In compliance with the recent California Court of Appeal decision in California Apartment Association v. City of Pasadena, the City of Alameda Rent Program will no longer enforce Alameda Municipal Code Section 6-58.85(A)(ii).

Alameda’s Rent Ordinance prevents landlords from terminating a tenancy except for certain allowable grounds and requires a relocation payment in circumstances that are not the fault of the tenant. Amounts for these relocation payments were established by City Council resolution and are adjusted annually based on a component of the Consumer Price Index (CPI)

The Alameda Rent Program has announced the annual program fees for fiscal year 2025-2026. Landlords pay an annual program fee to the City to cover the costs to provide and administer the Rent Program. Fee amounts are updated annually in accordance with Resolution 15771.
Pursuant to Alameda Municipal Code Section 6-58.60(B), the Annual General Adjustment for September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026, is 1.0%.
